Journey of Biblical Literacy

As a church, we are spending this next season immersing ourselves in the Bible.

Journey of Biblical Literacy

As a church, we are spending this next season immersing ourselves in the Bible. We'll be grappling with the texts, exploring the larger themes, all in an attempt to dive deeper into the story of God, his people, and seeing Jesus in it all.

Three Layers of the Journey

The journey is designed in three layers: personal, communal, and worshipful. The layers are meant to work together, providing a more complete context and clarity throughout the adventure.

Personal Layer

The personal layer is about learning the Scriptures through a daily commitment to opening your heart and mind to God through the spiritual discipline of Bible reading.

The Bible Project and Read Scripture have created a unique and powerful daily reading experience called Read Scripture to help you engage with the Bible. You can download the Read Scripture App below, as it cleanly presents each day’s reading along with the beautiful Read Scripture videos.

Our Daily Reading plan will start on Sunday, February 7th as "week one"

Communal Layer

The communal layer is about experiencing Scripture together in a weekly House Church.

The Journey of Biblical Literacy moves fast, so having space to dialogue and reflect with others is important for true engagement with the story of God. Each House Church will be following along with the Reading Plan to spur on their conversation and reflection, all guided by our Pastor of Community in short videos to help facilitate.

Not in a House Church yet? You can still follow along with weekly videos designed to help you reflect on your journey so far. Think of these as a way to get a sense of what happens within the discussion time at a House Church.

Worshipful Layer

The worshipful layer is about experiencing God in Scripture and worship on a Sunday. The teachings will loosely follow the daily reading plan but will try to encapsulate a broader view of the Bible as a whole.
