Those who receive Help know Hope.
Those who know Hope are compelled to Help.
At Lewisville, we believe we are Here to Serve, and we love helping each other take the Next Steps toward God and good in our lives. Hope Helps is meant to offer hope and help by showing practical love to others together. It might be a sister ministry, could be an organization in our community, or even a school in our neighborhood.
OCTOBER 2-9, 2022
THANK YOU so much for your support of Love Atlantic Week! We were so excited to partner with OVER 100 sister churches across denominations and across the Maritimes for LOVE ATLANTIC - A Week of Radical Generosity in Jesus' Name.
For our part, we at Lewisville focused our efforts on food insecurity in our community. We took a 3-pronged approach to this week-long initiative. We collected non-perishable food items for our local food bank throughout the week. We collected Grocery Gift Cards (Sobey's, Superstore) to give to Arnold H. McLeod to be used by the administration and teachers to help families experiencing food insecurity within their walls. We collected OVER $1400 in gift cards to give to the school!
While some of the initiatives were for Love Atlantic Week alone, we are still looking for volunteers to support both the Food Bank and our community elementary school. Check out the details below and sign up to help!
There is still time to volunteer with both the food bank and the school. You can sign up to help serve or stock shelves at the food bank, or make sandwiches to support Arnold H. McLeod.
MAKE SANDWICHES FOR ARNOLD H. MCLEOD
Arnold H. McLeod School is looking for help making sandwiches for weekly pickup. The school provides these to go bags for families who may are experiencing food insecurity. The school provides all of the ‘fixins’, so they are looking for sandwich-makers - and it can be done on or offsite. If you’re interested in making sandwiches:
- Fill out the form found here to register with the district
- Fill out the form below to sign up as part of the church team
VOLUNTEER AT THE FOOD BANK
Our friends at the Second Mile Food Bank are looking for monthly volunteers to help each day from 9am-1pm. Their need has increased tremendously - 25% in the last 3-4 months alone. This is a great chance for us to be Here to Serve onsite.
